How we rank

tooltrophy’s rankings are editorial. Each category page is our own comparison of the tools in it — we look at what a tool actually does, how it’s positioned against others in its category, and signs of real-world traction, and combine that into a single ranked list. It’s judgment applied consistently across a category, not a single public formula, and it’s still evolving as we cover more of them.

What a category page requires

A category only gets a page once we’ve got enough tools in it to make a real comparison worth publishing. Thin categories don’t get published — a weak list isn’t worth it.

What this isn’t

Not financial advice, not an endorsement, not affiliated with any tool listed. A ranking here is our own comparative judgment, not a guarantee of quality or fit for your specific use case.

Something wrong?

If you think a ranking is off or a tool is missing from a category, tell us — rankings get revisited as categories are reviewed.
